A Tribute to Sadie

Tonight Cynthia and I were faced with the terrible news that Sadie, our faithful friend and dog, had lymphoma carcinoma and didn't have long to live. Remembering that Sadie had been so faithful to us we could not allow her to suffer. Given the prognosis we allowed her to be put to sleep. At our request we were allowed to stay. Cynthia held her head in her hands while I rubbed her stomach--two of her most favorite things in the world. A few moments later she fell asleep. Wiping our tears away we choose to remember the happy times that we three had shared. Admittedly we will miss her terribly but Sadie was so good to us we could be no less to her. Our hearts are sad, our memories full, and we wish to share with you through these thoughts and the slideshow below. Sadie, the One and Only. She was much more than man's best friend---she was our best friend.

Looking at the pictures, I can see how Sadie was truly a beautiful dog. I can also see how much Cyndi and Tim deeply loved her. Everything God has created is good and is important to Him; He doesn't make mistakes. Job 12:10 states "In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."

I have no doubt whatsoever that Sadie is in Heaven, and Cyndi and Tim will be united with her once again. In thier compassion; they did not want her to suffer but I know that had to be such a difficult decision. I ask for everyone to pray for them; for peace and healing. Cyndi and Tim are such a blessing to so many people, so please uphold them in prayer.

So sorry to hear about Sadie. I know you are hurting. Our pets
of so many years are just like a member of our family. I still miss
Gidget and even dream about her.
I hope you have a good day in spite of everything.
Love you,
Mom

There will never be another Sadie. She was truly the best dog anyone could ever ask for. She loved everyone whether she had just meet you, or known you for years! She loved her stick, her rope and belly rubs. I will miss you forever Sweet Lady Beau Sadie!!!I will miss my welcomes at the door, too!!!

I am so sorry to hear the news about Sadie! I know you loved her and she was a very important part of your family.

I believe you have made the best choice, in letting her go, and I hope you will only have good, cheerful memories of her.

Honestly, I believe a dog can teach us so much about God’s love and our relationship with our creator and with each other. May the loving relationship that the three of you had be a long-lasting source of encouragement to you and Tim in the days ahead.

Love is one of the most incredible, powerful sources of healing… May it be yours, today!

Couldn’t believe my eyes when I read your message, especially after just seeing her the other day. How sad! My heart aches for you. How old was she? I am probably getting close to the same thing with Sydney. She could be as old as 15 or 16. We’ve had her 13 years and the vet said when we got her that she was between 1 and 3. Anyway, so sorry about your sweetie.

Shorts and I are very sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed Sadie when we came to visit. She was the most laid back dog I ever met.

You are in our thoughts.

God bless you.
