Cousin John

John Riggs, son of Lana and Finis Riggs, is our whole family's claim to fame. In from Colorado where he resides he starred in a broadway production called "My Way: A Tribute to Frank Sinatra" at the PAC here in Tulsa. We caught his act Sunday afternoon and absolutely loved his performance! He can sing, dance, and act....and all at once! WOW! Its not too late to take in the show as it runs this Wednesday through Saturday. See yesterday's newspaper for the review and ticket information. Way to go, Cousin John!!!

Nick's 17th Birthday

Hard to believe but Nicholas has turned 17!! We treated him to steak and shrimp on the grill and a special birthday cake that donned him "The Big Cheese"! Mom, Everett, and Granny came over to help celebrate. Happy Birthday, Nick!!

Vacation 2005

Sorry it has been so long since I've posted here but we were on vacation and then came back to a very busy schedule. During our nine days of vacation Cynthia fell in love with the game of golf. We played four rounds of golf! In addition we cooked on the grill, played in the pool, and just hung around the El Johnstonian Resort (our very own backyard)! We also took in Oklahoma at Discoveryland and on Friday celebrated Wive's Day with brunch at Camille's Sidewalk Cafe, a card, and two new planters for our front porch that Cynthia has been wanting. What is Wive's Day you might ask?? A brand new holiday that we started this year. Mark your calendars so that you don't miss next year's special day! July 15. Vacation, sadly, is fastly becoming a faint, distant memory but we had a wonderful, refreshing time.

Another of God's Blessings!

As my job has increased in responsibilities we have often left Cynthia without wheels. :( We have been praying for a second vehicle to address this problem for a while now and yesterday God answered it with a 2002 Nissan Sentra. :) PTL! He continues to amaze us with His abundant provision and "handfuls on purpose"! We are very thankful.

Spiraling Hibascus

We have had this spiraling hibascus for a few years now and it has absolutely loved its new pot and location! This is the best it has ever looked and we wanted to share. We will be looking for volunteers to help move it into the garage for the winter as it has about 100 pounds of dirt in its new pot! LOL!

Beauty Shop

Last night found Cynthia playing Beauty Shop with two of her BMC Advertising colleagues, Kristin and Nita. Somehow Nita managed to escape the eye of the camera but Kristin was not so fortunate! Both ladies left styling with a new do for the world to appreciate. Looking good ladies!

Fourth Celebration

Hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth filled with family, friends, food, and fun! We sure did! It all started for us Saturday as we quickly mowed the yard, cleaned the house, and rushed out to the pool. We enjoyed a beautiful day on the air mattresses. Sunday we had breakfast at Camille's Sidewalk Cafe and came back to the pool. Leo and Teresa joined us late afternoon for ribs and chicken on the grill and poolside fun. A lot of horsing around, laughing, eating, and just enjoying each other's company. We even made a date for a golf foursome this coming Saturday. I will let you know how that goes!! LOL! Monday we enjoyed a leisurely morning before heading back out to the pool and that evening found us at Cynthia's parents where we enjoyed a cookout and front row seats to the neighborhood fireworks. I have included pictures of all the above mentioned. It was very hard to trade our shorts and flip flops for our work clothes come Tuesday but we consoled ourselves with the fact that after this four day workweek we will begin our vacation at the El Johnstonian Resort! LOL! Stay tuned for more fun in the sun!!
