One Man's Idea of a Perfect Saturday

The day began with my sleepy eyes opening to find my beautiful bride snuggled next to me. The night's rest was welcome as we had both attendend a work conference the past two days and our bed was much welcomed when we retired the night before. I quietly slipped into the kitchen to start the warm liquid that we both require, that fruit-of-the-bean called coffee. Retrieving the paper and determined not to awaken my sleeping queen I gave her another hour to sleep. She soon joined me on the patio where we enjoyed a cup of coffee together. After a tender time of reaffirming our love (read into that what you will) we headed for the golf course where we thought to take advantage of the beautiful day that was fully ours. The sky was blue, the birds fully awake, and the greens fast. We came away choosing to remember the good shots and allowing the misdirected ones to slip from our minds. Stopping at the grocery store to restock our supply we made our way home where we still had a full half of a day to ourselves. We fired up the kiln and attempted to melt some wine bottles as my Aunt Rita had enjoyed some success in turning them into cheese trays. We followed that up with cooking talapia on the grill and enjoying our dinner on the patio. Soft music, chiminea smoking, and laughter filling the early evening was delightful background to a special time with my Sunshine. Once the dishes were cleared we spontaneously decided to throw some clay in our studio. Two vessels later Cynthia tried her hand at it as well and the mud started flying! After a quick shower we sought the comfort of our couch and a movie that we had rented. It wasn't long into the movie until Cynthia mentioned a chocolate craving and I dashed to Chareleston's to fulfill that desire. A man should never stand in the way of a woman and her chocolate! LOL! After a scrumptious dessert and the rest of the movie we retired to a contented sleep. What would the next day hold? Every day with my Sunshine is a good day but this Saturday was perfect and our love for each other greater than ever before.

Old Fart Bash

Saturday evening we held a Old Fart Bash for my Pop who turned 70. Says it was his first ever birthday party! Sure glad we did it! Had 14 people over as we invited his closest friends. Gag gifts, birthday cake, and instead of the tired birthday song we played "I Don't Look Good Naked Anymore"! Was a hoot! Be sure to check out all the pictures I've posted and drop him a Happy Birthday line here on this post! Pictured to the left he is holding up his "bigger than life" Viagra pill that friends got him!
