Catching You Up
Pottery? What’s that?? I know that may be a question coming to the mind of those who log in on this blog expecting to find something at least remotely related to pottery. I do hope to get back to pottery soon and in a big way. We have plans for our new studio including paint and new lighting and with the larger work area we have high hopes for production.
Yet, meanwhile back at the ranch, we have been keeping busy. In addition to the paint jobs that you have seen pictures of in this blog, I attended a two-day seminar in OKC as my job with Ninde Funeral Directors continues to expand. After five very full days of study I took the State Exam for Oklahoma Life Insurance Agent this morning in Tulsa and passed the exam! Cynthia is worn out praying for me and I am worn out studying but we are excited with what God is doing in the career He has opened up for me. I am now Ninde’s Preneed & Aftercare Coordinator with a state Life Agent license so that I can fund the funeral arrangements my clients make. Many think my work must be drudgery and even a little spooky but that concept couldn’t be further from the truth. I work with the living to make life more qualitative, bringing a sense of contentment at plans well laid which provides for their families beyond their own life expectancy. How good is that? I love helping families make the most of life---not just prepare for death (which comes whether we are prepared or not).
Anyway, Cynthia and I continue to beautify our new home, are making plans for a Baby Shower, and ministering in a local church; not to mention hitting the pool every chance we get. So….you can see how pottery has sadly taken a back seat to all of our other activities. But, if you stay tuned, I am sure that you will soon be seeing some of our creations as we love what our combined imaginations and talents can create. Thanks for blogging with us!

Betty's Sunroom
Cynthia's Mom, Betty Shoemaker, had a sunroom that needed a makeover. Since Ty couldn't do the job and "Design on a Dime" was booked solid....Cynthia and I came to her rescue. What was once barn red is now trimmed in white, with a white ceiling, and dill pickle (that's right!) green on the walls. Betty had finished her wicker furniture in a nice white and created new pillows for them with complimentary colors that adds a touch of class to the whole room. I will try to get you pictures of the finished product but this will have to do for now.
Pool Maintenance
While most of our time in the backyard is play time I have included some shots to show that occasionally a little work is required. Thankfully, we have the prettiest pool girl you have ever seen on retainer!! I could watch her work all day......or just watch her all day! LOL! Seriously, she has plenty of help on the pool just thought you would like to see her in action.
Boy's Barbershop
This past Friday found Nicholas and his friend, Matt, spending the night with us. They brought some blue/black hair dye with them and cajoled Cynthia into playing hairdresser. I have included some shots of them below for your amusement! Watching them was better than TV! LOL!

Nick and Company
This weekend my son, Nicholas, came over and brought his step brother, Casey. They spent Friday night with us. We had pizza on the patio, movies we picked up for the evening, and of course fun in the pool. It started out calm but by the time two more of Nick's friends came over, Matt & Kyle, things got a bit wild! Before you knew it all four boys were in the pool....clothes and all! LOL! I have posted some pics for your perusal. The whole patio was truly a splash zone for a while! LOL!

More On The Grand Lake Cottage
The bathroom color looked wonderful....until you opened the shower door and realized that the stall was harvest gold! Since they clashed my boss' wife chose a soft, almost butter color paint called Pale Moon---kind of appropriate for an outhouse, wouldn't you say? LOL! Anyway, I went back down last night and painted all the closets, the linen closet, interior of the front door, and cleaned up a couple of places I discovered while down there. Thought I would include some pics for you that are keeping up with this project. Good thing I took the pictures as I was a bit fuzzy on things as I didn't arrive back home until 4:00 this morning! LOL! Sometimes I get a bit carried away in my work. LOL! The weekend is looming and my pool is beckonging. Let the rehab begin!
